@Padua Botanical Garden

With almost 500 years of history, the Padua Botanical Garden is the world's oldest university botanical garden. For the opening of the new Botanical Museum, the institution asked TODO to create digital exhibits for both the Museum and the Visitor Center. We designed and produced an interactive map, animated posters, a multi-user touchscreen and a digital application to explore the historical archive.

The interactive map offers visitors a simple, intuitive touch-screen experience to explore the botanical garden. Users can browse categories like historical plants, environments and collections, buildings and architectures, services. Tapping a category reveals related icons on the map, while selecting an icon provides detailed information about a specific plant, landmark, or facility, making navigation and discovery both seamless and engaging.

The Visitor Center window hosts a screen showcasing digital posters with the activities of the Botanical garden. The client identified three event categories (exhibition, one-off event, multi-event) and I assigned a colour each. One-off events, or single events that are part of a series, showcase a simpler artwork. The posters are easily updatable by employees through a dedicated CMS-based interface.
